The Story

By pure chance, while holidaying on the island we had known and visited many times, we discovered a derelict, little apartment that had lain empty and unloved for 4 years. Wanting to escape the hectic hamster-wheel of working in the media industry in London, we started figuring out how the property could be transformed into a relaxing retreat for friends and family to enjoy for years to come.

The sketches, moodboards and head-scratching began… and 5 months later Apartamento65 was complete.

Along the way our building guru, Iri, and his all-star team, Clemente, Willy and Armando, peeled off countless layers of paint, wallpaper – on the walls AND ceilings! – and hideous 1970s plastic floor-to-ceiling panels that covered up the beautiful limestone walls.

Keeping as many of the original features as possible, renovations revealed a vaulted ceiling, original wooden beams and a Moorish-style doorway lintel in the hallway. Bespoke furniture, cosy furnishings and vintage finds completed the interiors, whilst a contemporary Catalan-style tiled bench and planters were added in the sunny private courtyard.
