Beaches

Menorca has more beaches than neighbouring Mallorca and Ibiza put together – over 60 in total – pretty darn good for a little island with around 190km of coastline!

So whether you’re after local, no-fuss family beaches, sandy coves only accessible by boat or secluded jump-off-the-rocks-into-deep-blue-sea, there is plenty to choose from.

A few to check out during your stay:

  • PLAYA BINIBEQUER – one of the nearest beaches to Mahon. White sand beach with parking, bar/restaurant and loos. Ideal for families or to catch a few quick rays if you’re limited time-wise.
  • CALA MITJANA – THE picture postcard white sand beach on the south coast, an easy 25 minutes drive. Park up in the pine forest and take a picnic. Good for families, gets busy in peak season.
  • PLAYA CAVALLERIA – gorgeous sand-dune beach on the wild north coast of the island. A short walk and steep steps to get to the beach, so not great for those with little ‘uns. (After a day at the beach don’t miss sundowners at the Eco-museum overlooking the lighthouse at Cap de Cavalleria). Parking and loos.
  • CALES COVES – beautiful ‘Y’ shaped inlet of turquoise water – a favourite for sail boats. Small white sand beach and rocky paths (plus a few caves) to explore. Parking with a short walk to beach.
