Menorca is one of the Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean, alongside Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera – it is a naturally unspoilt UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and being here is very low-key, with much appreciation of the environment and ‘slow living’.

Apartamento65 is in the centre of Mahon (also known as Mao, the capital city) on a quiet, residential street. The property is within a 5 minute walk to all the cafes, restaurants and shops in town, as well as being only a short stroll to Mahon’s historic and picturesque port. Beautiful white sandy beaches are a mere 10/15 minute drive away.

We’ve found that staying in town, rather than at a villa in the country, means you can live more like a local… nip into town to pick up fresh bread/newspaper, or grab a cortado (short coffee) first thing in the morning. And in the evening, there’s no drive to get to a restaurant or bar, you just have an easy stroll there knowing you’re only minutes from home.

Flight time from London Gatwick to Menorca is often less than 2 hours, so it’s ‘closer than Cornwall’ – and you get way more sunshine!
