Getting to and around Menorca is very easy.

You can fly (easiest) or get the ferry across from Barcelona or Valencia (but be warned, the boat is a long and sometimes expensive option!).

Car hire is essential if you want to explore the island during your stay, but if you want to remain close in Mahon it might be worth relying on local taxis or buses. It could work out cheaper/easier for you.

Flight time from London is usually under 2 hours.

As always, flight costs vary according to season; return flights per person can vary between £55 (in low season) to over £200 (in August). Many carriers fly direct to Mahon/Menorca from London, up-weighting their number of flights each week during June-September.

For those not from the UK/London, there are also direct flights from Barcelona, Madrid and Mallorca, as well as increasingly from France (Vueling airlines from Paris Orly via Barcelona) and Italy (Vueling airlines from Milan or Rome via Barcelona).

And when you arrive… there’s no long transfer time – Apartamento65 is a straight-forward 10 minute car/taxi journey from the airport.

Taxi from airport to Mahon/A65 should cost about €14. Buses go from the airport every half hour (on the 00:15 and 00:45) and cost about €2.

There’s a reliable and safe, centralised island-wide taxi service call:

Order a cab about 5/10 minutes before you want it to arrive.

We recommend local family-run Momple.

Not only do they meet you at the arrivals terminal, making the whole experience stress-free, they also have the best all-inclusive insurance included in their rates and no expensive upfront charges for fuel.  (If you have small children you can also hire baby or booster seats).

Buses are easy and cheap. The main bus terminal is 8-10 mins walk away and offers links to most of the island towns and tourist hotspots, but they won’t get you anywhere near the more low-key beaches. Bus schedules available here.
